The Carnival Organization of Jacksonville, Inc. (COOJI), brings the Caribbean to Jacksonville, annually. The parade and festival takes place on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
Caribbean Style Mardi Gras Parade: The festive parade begins at 1pm, from the corners of Southside & Beach Boulevards then proceeds to the Food, Craft and Music Festival venue.
Dance along with the parade to the festival venue. The parade showcases colorful costumes, dancing, and the sounds of calypso, soca and steel drums can be heard throughout the area.
The Salaam Club venue, 8101 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Fl. 32216, is transformed into “Jacksonville’s CARNIVAL CITY”. At the festival, you can taste great Caribbean foods, stroll vendor booths with artwork, listen to music and much more. The Caribbean Food Festival features a stage show with live music and cultural performances, until 10pm .
